Whether you’d like to re‑upholster a single chair in a day, develop your skills over several weeks, or work one‑to‑one on a specific project, Upholstery Addicts offers a range of friendly, hands‑on upholstery courses in Guiseley, Leeds. All options are suitable for beginners and improvers, with professional tools provided and expert guidance throughout.

Day Classes
£135 per day
Our full‑day upholstery workshops are ideal if you want to transform a simple chair or footstool into a finished piece of furniture in a single day. These workshops run from 10am to 4.30pm, with a break for lunch, and are designed to give you a complete introduction to upholstery techniques.
You’ll be guided through the entire process, from stripping the chair back to the frame, through webbing and foam, to fitting your chosen fabric. No previous experience is required, and classes are mixed ability so you can learn from others as well as from the tutor.
All professional upholstery tools are provided, including a compressed air staple gun for each student. You simply need to bring a suitable project; advice is available beforehand if you’re unsure whether your chair is appropriate.
Workshop Classes
£185 per course
If you’d prefer to learn at a more relaxed pace, our workshop courses run over four or six weeks, with two‑ or three‑hour sessions held weekly in either the morning or evening. Small class sizes allow for individual attention, while still giving you the chance to share ideas and learn alongside others.
These courses take you step by step through the fundamentals of upholstery, allowing time to practise techniques at home between sessions if you wish. You’ll work on your own project and receive guidance through each stage, from stripping down to final fabric application.
All core tools are provided, and materials used in the workshop are included, with the exception of your final top fabric. If you’re unsure about your project choice, you can send a photo in advance for advice.
